Personal Statement 

I am a board certified clinical health psychologist with a primary focus on chronic pain.  My health services research at the Roudebush VA Medical Center concentrates on the intersection of chronic pain and posttraumatic stress disorder.  Furthermore, I am committed to the dissemination and implementation of empirically supported psychological treatments for chronic pain, both with and without comorbid mental health conditions.  Clinically, I have the honor of working with terminally ill veterans and their caregivers in Palliative Care at the VA.

Teaching: Undergraduate courses in Health Psychology and Psychology of Women; Clinical supervision in Palliative Care; Didactic lectures to interns and residents regarding chronic pain, health psychology, and research ethics

Clinical: Palliative care psychology (e.g., pain management, psycho-oncology, end-of-life counseling); Psychological interventions for chronic pain

Research: Comorbidity of chronic pain and posttraumatic stress disorder; Cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness-based approaches to chronic pain treatment; Women’s health; Sexual and/or military trauma
