Personal Statement

As a clinical health psychologist, I promote health by understanding and  treating the overlapping behavioral, emotional, cognitive, social, and biological components of a wide range of illnesses. I provide psychological assessment, treatment, and consultation for patients in specialized health care programs throughout the IU Health system.  My clinical work is interconnected with clinical teaching and supervision for interns, residents, and fellows across multiple medical school departments.

Certification in Behavioral Sleep Medicine (CBSM) by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine

Current Academic Interests

Teaching: Clinical supervision and didactic training of medical students, psychology interns, psychiatry residents, and sleep medicine fellows.   I am the core rotation supervisor for the Adult Outpatient psychology internship rotation, as well as the specialty rotation supervisor for the Psychosocial Oncology rotation.  I serve as the course director for the Cultural Diversity course and provide multiple Health Psychology lectures for psychology internship training.  

Clinical: Provide diagnostic assessment and psychotherapeutic treatment at IU Health Neurosciences Center Adult Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic in my role as Chief Psychologist and Director of the Behavioral Sleep Medicine Program.  I provide health psychology services for the Multidisciplinary Psychosocial Oncology Clinic at the IU Simon Cancer Center and the Advanced Heart and Lung Care Clinic at IU Health Methodist Hospital. 

Research: I am interested in the dissemination of evidence-based practice and  treatment outcomes of psychotherapeutic interventions for chronic health conditions.
