Clinician (Therapist)

Job Description

PARC (Prevention and Recovery Center for Early Psychosis) is designed to serve Indiana as a center of clinical, research, and educational excellence in the treatment of individuals in the early stages of schizophrenia and other psychotic illnesses. Clients are between the ages of 16 35, and are within the first few years after onset of illness. The primary mission of PARC is to significantly improve the current clinical condition and the long term clinical outcome of clients who suffer from potentially devastating illnesses by intervening early in the course of the illness. PARC is located in Eskenazi Hospital.

The Clinician completes biopsychosocial evaluation (BPSE), integrating information gathered by the team and developing the integrated diagnostic summary. The Clinician prepares treatment plans based upon the BPSE and in consultation with the treatment team, manages a caseload of clients, performs a variety of therapeutic interventions and case management duties, advocates for clients' needs, evaluates each client's mental status, identifies community resources and interprets and applies service and billling procedures according to client needs.

Job Requirements

-Master's degree in human services field

-Candidate must have submitted a plan to obtain licensure at the soonest date possible within a maximum allowed of three years

-Valid Indiana driver's license

Care Coordinator

Job Description

PARC (Prevention and Recovery Center for Early Psychosis) is designed to serve Indiana as a center of clinical, research, and educational excellence in the treatment of individuals in the early stages of schizophrenia and other psychotic illnesses. Clients are between the ages of 16 - 35 and are within the first few years after onset of illness. The primary mission of PARC is to significantly improve both the current clinical condition and the long term clinical outcome of clients suffering from potentially devastating illnesses by intervening early in the course of the disease. PARC is located at Eskenazi Hospital.

The Care Coordinator, in collaboration with the MD/CNS and treatment team, formulates, develops and revises treatment plans. The Care Coordinator prioritizes and subsequently coordinates treatment activities and inteviews patients and significant others to gather information for Biopsychosocial Updates and ANSA/CANS assessments and completes those accurately and timely with good quality.

 

Job Requirements

-Bachelor's degree in social work, substance abuse, education, counseling, psychology, sociology, criminal justice or related field

-Minimum of one year related work experience

-May substitute a Master's degree in social work, substance abuse, education, counseling, psychology, sociology, criminal justice or related field if no prior experience in mental health

-Valid Indiana driver's license

Education & Outreach Specialist

Job Description:

Clients are between the ages of 16 - 35, and are within the first few years after onset of illness. The primary mission of PARC is to significantly improve the current clinical condition and the long term clinical outcome of clients who suffer from potentially devastating illnesses by intervening early in the course of the illness. PARC is located in Eskenazi Hospital.

The Education and Outreach Specialist for Midtown Community Mental Health Center establishes and maintains a referral network; develops referral pathways with inpatient facilities, emergency departments, crisis intervention services, non-psychiatric medical providers, and the criminal justice system, cultivating relationships with personnel at these agencies through frequent contacts. Essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides education to community stakeholders to increase awareness and facilitate connection with PARC CSC services as early in the individual’s illness as possible
  • Institutes an education program to mental health professionals in the Central Indiana area to broaden expertise in first episode of psychosis (FEP) care
  • Monitors referrals and intakes to the parent agency, facilitating connection of likely candidates to the CSC program
  • Responsible for planning, organization, implementation, and evaluation of all extramural educational programming

Job Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Human Services field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with severely mentally ill populations or 3 years of experience with severely mentally ill populations PLUS 2 years of educational and/or marketing experience
  • Valid Indiana Driver’s License

Team Leader/CSC

Job Description:

The Team Leader for PARC/CSC provides clinical and administrative supervision to clinicians, care coordinators, or other related positions within Midtown. Essential job functions included, but are not limited to:

  • Maintains expertise in specific research-based clinical practices and protocols
  • Teaches research-based clinical practices and protocols to other staff and monitors staff adherence and fidelity to those practices and protocols
  • Provides orientation and on-the-job training to assure staff are well prepared for their roles
  • Collaborates/consults with Prescriber, Manager, and other personnel for the integration and development of necessary treatment services
  • Participates in the development of in-service training to assure staff remain current in their practice

Job Requirements

Master’s Degree in human services plus minimum of 3 years’ experience in a mental health setting Licensure required Qualified Behavioral Health Professional status

Midtown Employment Consultant II

The Midtown Employment Consultant II provides assistance to long-term mentally disabled patients in obtaining and retaining competitive work in a community setting. The Midtown Employment Consultant II is responsible for orienting, training, coaching and supporting individuals to make placements successful.

 

Job Requirements

-High school education with at least 3 years' experience within the Midtown system and demonstrated competencies OR Bachelor's degree in a human services field and demonstrated competencies with a minimum of one year experience OR Master's degree in human service field with no experience

-Valid public passenger/chauffeur license and access to vehicle to transport patients may be required
